Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Set. Is it a good begennier- intermediate set?
I'm a 6'0 player, who's just picking up golf. I can hit the ball fairly far for a beginner, so my dad says. I was wondering if the Jack Nicklaus set is a good by for $250 for a beginner to intermediate player?
No matter what brand name the clubs are, the most important thing is to get the set fit for you.
Things like lie angle, shaft length, clubhead offset, and Shaft Flex are individual measurements that must be taken in order to get a set suited for your height and swing type.
You could go out and buy a set off the rack, but you'd be learning to swing the club, rather than learning to groove your swing. In other words, you'd be making adjustments to compensate for club specifications that don't meet your needs.
For $250 you can get plenty of good sets that are used. You can always change the characteristics of any golf club after you get fitted for it. Check Out your local golf store to ask about the price of fittings. They usually run about $40, but it's worth it.

The legendary Jack Nicklaus
The general consensus seems that the rhythm that Tiger Woods is destined to be the best golfer of all time, before his career over. That may be. But he has a way to go before it can be the current holder of the title, "The Golden Bear" Jack Nicklaus.
Nicklaus has a dominant Force in the Gulf for the first time in four decades on the Pga Tour from 1960 until the second half of the 1980s, then on the Champions Tour 1980 to the 1990s. His name will always with that of another great golfer, Arnold Palmer, because together, was introduced in the rebirth of golf related. The Palmer-Nicklaus rivalry was so convincing, that made golf a popular sport on television for the first time, driving interest in the game across America.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, took Nicklaus golf at the age of ten and shot a 51 on his first nine holes. 70 Time burst was 13 and had already made its first championship of the time. In the age of 12, Nicklaus won the first of six titles of Junior Ohio State. As a student at Ohio State University, Nicklaus won the U.S. Amateur title twice (1959, 1961), an NCAA championship (1961) almost the U.S. Open (1960), he second with two strokes to Palmer, who won tournament with a 65-finals.
In 1962, Nicklaus turned pro, and created an impressive record of 18 victories in major Tournaments (three Open Championships, four U.S. - opened, five PGA Championships, and six Masters), is second to none. He is one of five golfers at all four majors (Course to win the "Grand Slam"). It was the first player to have won all four more than once to accomplish with Tiger Woods as the only player to enhance performance. Nicklaus remains the only golfers who have won four large, at least thrice. Even in the twilight of his career at age 46, Nicklaus won the Masters in 1986, the oldest is Players, the tournament win. In general, major golf tournaments, Nicklaus finished in the Top Three "48 times (including 19 seconds places and nine third places) finished in the "Top Five" and has been viewed 56 times in the top 10 73-times.
Perhaps one day the greatest Tiger of them all, but is currently the only Nicklaus toughest test of all-the test of time passed.
